Q.
|
I can't get connected with my COMPAQ/PACKARD BELL computer. Why?
|
|
A.
|
Compaq and Packard Bell have put in their computers a data/fax/voice modem and special
software for those modems. They have been doing so for the past several years with Windows
3.1 and Windows 95. When you try to connect, you might be getting an error message like
"Modem already being used by another device" or something similar. When this
happens, deactivate the Phone/Call Center software. If you do not see the
Phone/Call Center on your screen, you might need to look in your Program Groups for a
"Call Center" or "Media Pilot." Turn the Phone/Call Center OFF.
This will have to be done each time you wish to connect to us.
