Q. Windows 95 asks for a username & password when I bring up any Internet application. What do I do?
A. To stop Windows 95 from asking for a username and password:

1. Go into Windows Explorer, go into your Windows directory and look for a file with the extension .PWL. Once you find that find, click on it to select it and delete it.

2. In Notepad, open the system.ini file. Scroll down near to the bottom of the file. You will see the section [Password Lists]. Delete the line that says (your username)=C:\WINDOWS\(your username).PWL.

3. Go to your Control Panel and double click on the Network icon.

4. In the middle of the window, it says "Primary Network Logon," if it says "Windows Logon" switch it to "Client for Microsoft Networks," click the OK button, and restart your computer when asked to.
